Rosen Statement Following Vote in Support of USMCA

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) released the following statement following her vote in support of the bipartisan United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).

“While this trade agreement is not perfect, USMCA takes important steps to protect American jobs by encouraging more goods and materials to be manufactured in the United States,” said Senator Rosen. “In Nevada, over ninety-nine percent of all businesses are small businesses, many of which depend on trade. This bipartisan trade deal will promote growth and strengthen Nevada’s economy, protecting the thousands of jobs created by the $1.8 billion in goods that the Silver State exports yearly to Canada and Mexico, our closest trade allies. USMCA makes significant improvements to protect workers by providing important wage and labor protections while giving businesses the stability and peace of mind they need to continue to grow and innovate. We must also recognize that this agreement does not go far enough in fighting climate change. That’s why I’ll continue to support meaningful and immediate action to promote a clean energy economy that creates jobs and protects our public lands and natural resources in Nevada.”
