Rosen Co-Sponsors Carper Resolution, Calls Climate Change One of the Most Pressing Issues of Our Time

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) signed onto Senator Tom Carper’s (D-DE) resolution which acknowledges that climate change is real; that human activity during the last century is the dominant cause of the climate crisis; and that Congress should take immediate action to address this crisis.

“Instead of taking steps to address one of the most pressing issues of our time, this Administration continues to unravel important environmental protections that are key to ensuring the health and safety of communities across the country,” said Senator Rosen (D-NV). “In Nevada, and in other western states, issues like wildfires and water scarcity are already a growing concern. This resolution makes clear what we can no longer deny as fact — the catastrophic effects of climate change are real, and things will get worse if we don’t act.”

BACKGROUND: This week, scientists wrote that evidence showing human activity is the cause of global warming has reached a “gold standard” level of certainty. Text of the Carper Resolution can be found here.
