Rosen Votes to Confirm Granholm to Lead Department of Energy

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) released the following statement after voting to confirm former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy:

“Today, I voted to confirm Jennifer Granholm to serve our nation as Secretary of Energy,” said Senator Rosen. “Ms. Granholm recognizes the important role that energy policy plays in Nevada and across our country. Under Secretary Granholm’s leadership, the Department of Energy will work to modernize our energy infrastructure, invest in clean sources of power like solar and geothermal, help create renewable energy jobs, and oppose failed policies that would endanger our health and environment like storing nuclear waste at Yucca Mountain. I look forward to working alongside Secretary Granholm to implement forward-thinking energy policies and protections.”
