Rosen Commemorates 11th Anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, Celebrates Recent Passage of the American Rescue Plan that Included Expansion of the ACA

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), a member of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP), released the following statement to commemorate the 11th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and celebrate the recent expansion of the law included in the American Rescue Plan (ARP):

“Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, millions of Americans have access to affordable insurance regardless of where they live or work, including important protections for people with pre-existing conditions,” said Senator Rosen. “COVID-19 has created the largest health crisis in recent history. As we celebrate the 11th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, I was proud to help pass the American Rescue Plan earlier this month, which included the largest expansion of Affordable Care Act premium subsidies since the law was first enacted, opening the door for millions of families to obtain and maintain health insurance.”

“Thanks to the American Rescue Plan, more than 23 million individuals have been granted the opportunity to receive vaccines, disease screenings, wellness visits, and lifesaving emergency care without added financial burden,” Senator Rosen continued. “On this 11th anniversary of the ACA, I recommit to continue fighting for access to quality, affordable health care, as well as build on the success and progress that we’ve seen under the Affordable Care Act.”
