I am horrified by the attack on the Islamic Center of San Diego and reports stating three victims have been killed. I'm praying for the victims, their families, and the entire San Diego community. While we wait to hear more about the motives of this attack, we cannot ignore the fact that Islamophobia has been on the rise across the United States. We need to do more to keep faith centers protected from these kinds of vile actions.

During Wildfire Awareness Month – and as we prepare for the possibility of another devastating summer of wildfires – it’s important to follow evacuation orders from local authorities and make a plan in case of emergency.
I’m grateful for Nevada’s wildland firefighters who risk their lives to keep us safe, and will keep working to make sure they have the resources they need to be prepared.
