The FIFA World Cup is bringing visitors from around the world to the U.S. – and as they stay in our hotels, dine in our restaurants, and experience all that America has to offer, they’re supporting our small businesses that are at the heart of our communities and contributing to our economy.

With more international events on the horizon, like the Summer and Winter Olympics, the United States has a great opportunity to keep growing our tourism industry. I’ll keep supporting the hospitality workers and small businesses who power it.

As your representative in the U.S. Senate, hearing from Nevadans across the state is one of my top priorities.

Last week, I visited the newly-expanded Culinary Academy to see the world-class training it provides to Nevadans to access good-paying, union hospitality jobs.

I also met with Pastor Kelcey West — a wonderful community leader and important voice in our city — to discuss what he’s hearing from the community and how I can help in the Senate.

Afterwards, I met with the Las Vegas Valley Water District and Southern Nevada Water Authority to talk about my efforts to ensure Nevada’s drinking water is resilient to extreme heat.

I’m taking what I heard back to Washington as I continue to work to support our hospitality industry, lower costs for Nevada families, and protect Nevada’s resources.
