Last year, Secretary Rubio committed to me that he would maintain programming at the State Department that supports women and girls around the world. But under his leadership, the State Department has terminated dozens of awards and shuttered key offices associated with these programs.

It's ineffective foreign policy to pretend that half of the world's population doesn't exist. Investments in women and girls is a force multiplier and has been proven to strengthen national security outcomes.
