I’m extremely troubled by reports showing 300 American sailors spent FOUR days on the USS Benfold while it lacked drinkable water, meal service, running toilets, or air conditioning in the sweltering heat of the South China Sea.
This comes at a time when we are hearing about the poor conditions our sailors have had to endure aboard the USS Lincoln in the Middle East.
The men and women who serve our country deserve better. The U.S. Navy must provide answers about what they're doing to improve these conditions and make sure they don't happen again.A US Navy guided-missile destroyer spent four days last month without working toilets, galley services and air conditioning in the blistering heat of the South China Sea after the warship lost power. cnn.it/4qraREc

2026: 30th Annual Tahoe Summit
Thirty years of the Tahoe Summit is more than a milestone—it is a story written across the landscape. You can see it in clearer waters, healthier forests, restored wetlands, safer communities, and better ways for people to experience Tahoe. Behind every visible improvement is an incredible partnership and investment.
It is impossible to capture the full impact of three decades of collaboration through the Lake Tahoe Environmental Improvement Program (EIP) in a single campaign. The stories shared over the past 30 days represent just a handful of the hundreds of EIP milestones that have shaped Tahoe’s environmental progress and demonstrate what is possible when Team Tahoe works together with shared purpose.
As we celebrate the 30th Annual Tahoe Summit today, we invite you to stay engaged, learn more, and be part of the next chapter of Tahoe’s future as part of Team Tahoe.
Together, we can carry this legacy forward for the next 30 years and beyond.
Learn more and follow along at RestoreTahoe.org, and be sure to tune into another historic moment for Lake Tahoe at TahoeSummit.org.
Together for Tahoe.
