There’s currently a backlog of nearly 12 million visa applications – some of which require processing before individuals can file for work permits to be able to work legally in our country. This threatens workers’ ability to keep their jobs, employers’ ability to keep staff, and our ability to prevent costs from going up.
Workers depend on timely processing to continue providing for their families and contributing to our economy. I’m demanding U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services explain how they’re planning to work through this backlog.

I joined a bipartisan group of my colleagues in introducing a bill to increase pressure on Putin to end his brutal, unprovoked war in Ukraine – and make those who enable Russia's energy and defense sectors pay a heavy price. This legislation was the late Senator Lindsey Graham's top priority, and now is the time to get it done.
Our message is clear: if you help finance Putin's war, there will be consequences.
