More than one third of American women live in a state with an abortion ban. For those women, the right to seek reproductive care in pro-choice states like Nevada can be a matter of life and death.

As the state with the largest percentage of federal lands, we’re disproportionately affected by a unique challenge: Nevada counties miss out on property tax revenue that funds necessities like public education and law enforcement.

That’s why we have a federal program called Payment In Lieu of Taxes that ensures these counties can still access the funding they need even with high percentages of federal lands. I’m proud to announce that over $35 million is coming to help rural communities across Nevada provide these essential services. I’ll always fight to make sure Nevada gets our fair share of federal funding.
