I’m devastated to hear the news that nearly a thousand Spirit Airline employees in Southern Nevada have lost their jobs due to the airlines’ closure.
The last straw that led to Spirit’s abrupt closure was rising gas prices under Donald Trump’s watch. This will increase unemployment in our state in the short term, and hurt our tourism industry in the long term.
I will keep working to lower costs for Nevadans and help our travel and tourism industry rebound from Trump’s reckless policies.
