Donald Trump has spent the past year trying to gut critical services that help families afford the basics and get ahead – and now he’s out with an extreme budget proposal that would eliminate some of them altogether, including LIHEAP and Job Corps.
Job Corps has given millions of young Americans the skills training they need to get good-paying jobs and contribute to our economy, and LIHEAP helps hardworking families lower their home energy costs, especially during extreme temperature changes like we experience in Nevada. Congress needs to reject these cruel cuts.

I'm deeply troubled by reports that the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum has removed educational materials on the ties between racism and Nazism and canceled a workshop on the fragility of democracy. History has shown that antisemitism and Holocaust denialism is often tied to democratic backsliding and hatred towards other minority communities.
As a member of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council, I intend to raise questions about these developments and ensure that the USHMM's educational materials do not become a political football.
